Plastic Perfection was a performance piece tackling the ever growing issues around body dysmorphia and the rise of cosmetic surgery, performed at Modern Panic VIII hosted by Guerrilla Zoo.
As a society we have become so obsessed with the idea of 'beauty' we have gone to inhumane extremes to realise these obsessions. From concrete injected into posteriors to rat poison instead of anaesthetic - people are going to extremes to achieve the 'perfect body'.
Big bums, small waists, big breasts, big lips and now tighter vaginas! Is this really a world that we want our future generations to grow up in? With cosmetic surgery at an all time high it is about time we faced these issues and start to work towards a happier and healthier society.
Taking inspiration from botched surgeries, Harrall uses putty, expanding foam, cling film and lipstick to transform her body into a performing sculpture - by performing cosmetic surgery on herself she becomes a warped view of today's 'perfect image'.
